Challenges / Opportunities

Marriott needed a quick and effective way to prepare leaders for senior level positions. Mission Facilitators International was a part of a team that delivered training to department leaders, assistant general managers, and general managers at Marriott international locations in 19 countries over a period of 10 years.

Recommendations & Implementations

  • Blend the MFI Social Styles Assessment into two training program: Managing Business Priorities and Business Acumen.

The centerpiece of these programs was an interactive computer simulator that allowed participants in teams to make strategic hotel decisions (pricing, labor, marketing, etc.) and assess results by reviewing financial reports (summary income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement)

  • Facilitate these programs in 19 counties over a ten-year period
  • Develop and maintain high quality relationships with participants, senior leaders, customs agents and airport personnel


MFI Facilitator consistently was rated at 90% or above in post training surveys and 60% of the time got perfect scores for facilitation, expertise and ability to engage the participants in meaningful learning.
